Holocaust Book Club

The Holocaust Book Club is open to 8th graders only. Ms. Eisert, who has visited Auschwitz, Dachau, and Terezen concentration camps and has met several Holocaust survivors on her journeys, is the book club sponsor. We will read the following books at a minimum: The Boy on the Wooden Box, Prisoner B3087, and Surviving the Angel of Death. In addition, the club members will view the movie, Schindler's List, after parent permission is received. Field trips to meet survivors and hear their stories first hand are planned as well. This includes the CANDLES Holocaust Museum in Terre Haute, and the Holocaust Museum in Skokie, Illinois, is a possibility as well. There is no charge for the club, but members are responsible for their own entrance fees to any museums.

A meeting schedule will be announced later in the school year. We meet after school, usually from 2:30- 4:00 in room 812. An attempt is made to schedule the meetings around athletic events and/or provide two meeting dates for the same content.

The Holocaust Book Club is open to any 8th grader and meets after school on scheduled days. Contact Mary Eisert (meisert@tsc.k12.in.us) for more information.
