The Tippecanoe School Corporation Board of School Trustees welcomed new member Julie Cummings at its January 13 reorganization meeting. She replaces Jane Smith to serve as the representative from District 5, which encompasses Sheffield and Lauramie Townships. Cummings was sworn in office along with reelected board members Jacob Burton, starting his second term and Brian DeFreese, starting his third term. 

Cummings is the Operations Coordinator for Wellcoaches Corporation, a health and wellness coach training school. She is a graduate of Jefferson High School and Indiana-Purdue University, Indianapolis. She and her husband John have three children in TSC schools. 

“I am a strong advocate for students and staff and want to be an engaged representative who works to implement constructive feedback while supporting the interests of our community,” says Cummings. “My overarching goal is to be sure everyone is represented, not just those with the loudest voice.”
