The Tippecanoe School Corporation has named Dan Peo as the new assistant principal at Wea Ridge Middle School. He has 11 years of teaching experience, the last seven as Director of Bands at McCutcheon High School. He also served as an interim assistant principal at McCutcheon. Peo earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana State University, master's degree from Purdue University and will soon complete an MBA program at Indiana State University.
Peo says he is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Wea Ridge community preparing students for McCutcheon and beyond. "An important part of my role as band director was building strong relationships with parents and families. I plan to continue that at Wea," says Peo. "Kindness, follow-through, communication, and a thirst to learn are some of the strengths that I will bring to the administrative team."
Peo replaces Clint Wilson who accepted the position as principal of Clinton Prairie Elementary School. Peo will oversee student discipline, special education, attendance and other duties at the school of almost 650 students and 75 staff members.
"Mr. Peo's energy and enthusiasm will be an asset for our school," says Wea Ridge Middle School Principal Fred Roop. "He has a history of creating a student-centered classroom that will transition well to his interactions with students and staff at Wea."
